Why White Cabinets With Black Granite Looks Better

Adding white cabinets is a great way to update your kitchen. While a glass top kitchen is gaining popularity, black granite worktops make the room look larger and even make the food easier to eat. You can choose from white, black, or other colors to suit your taste.

Choose your granite for the base of your white cabinets and then consider adding accents to your cabinets to bring color and texture. If you want your cabinets to look like black granite, add some pearly clear lacquer to the base. This will give you a glossy black finish. Any stain will do the same but since black will require a sealer, a heavier stain is recommended for this look.

However, you don't have to keep the kitchen dark just because you choose black granite. You can add beautiful color by using bright pinks, yellows, or oranges. These will not only look good in the kitchen but in the living room, dining room, and other rooms in the house.

Remember that you don't have to go all out with dark cherry or mahogany. You can add just a hint of color to the room with more natural looking, natural colors such as brown, beige, or yellow. Since the granite is not colored, you can use natural tones as long as you use a sealer or stain to cover the finish.
