Shaving Cabinet Height Above Vanity 10'x10' Kitchen $1350
How to Position Your Shaving Cabinets to Get a Close Shave?
Shaving cabinet's height above vanity may seem like a relatively small thing, but it can make a huge difference in the way your bathroom looks. A properly positioned shaving cabinet will allow you to get a very close shave, rather than the distance shave you get with one that is not installed correctly. The first thing you need to do when considering how to position your shaving cabinets is decide how high your vanity is.
Most homes have a standard height that they prefer for their cabinets. Some like them higher than others, depending on the design of the bathroom.
If you live in an apartment or condo, you will need to measure your wall. If you don't have an exact measurement, use one to four inches as a guideline.
Some people find it easier to measure one end of the room and cut out a piece of paper. Cut the paper to fit and mark the top of the paper with pencil or pen.
Take the center line of the paper and mark the end that you want to cut with a pencil. Cut out a square that is about one inch longer than your corner. This will be the side of the shaving cabinet you will install in the corner.
Measure the inside of the shaving cabinet and the razor base. Mark both measurements with a pencil or pen. These measurements are the vertical measurement of the shaving cabinet.
The next step is to measure the distance between the inside of the shaving cabinet and the opening on the wall. Mark this point on the wall with a pencil or pen. If you want a mirror, use a mirror. You can easily remove the mirror by unscrewing the razor base.
Once you have the vertical measurement of the shaving cabinet, find the opening in the wall for the mirror. This is where you will hang the mirror from. Measure the length of the mirror and place the mirror in the opening.
Turn the knob to open the door for shaving. You will notice that the door adjusts down to the point where it cannot be closed all the way. At this point, the shaving cabinet will hang slightly lower than the vanity.
To raise the shaving cabinet, you will need to raise the vanity by a few inches. This can be done by lifting the vanity of a few inches. The shaving cabinet will hang higher than the vanity, and the mirror will be placed in the right spot.
When the vanity is raised, turn the knob and the shaving cabinet will adjust back down to the same height as the vanity. You will now be able to place the mirror in the proper place. You may also want to put a curtain between the mirror and the bathroom wall.
Finally, shave! If the positioning of the cabinet is not correct, you will not be able to get a very close shave. With a little work, you can have a great looking bathroom.
